History of Alive

Alive Festival began in 2008 as part of our response to the Hope 08 national initiative. We had been involved in the Living Water Conference based at Norwich Showground, which sadly had to close after 11 years in 2006. After a time of waiting on God we discovered how we might build on the work undertaken. In conversations with some of the national leadership of New Wine we realized before God, that there was a space for a smaller community-based festival that might provide a taste of the bigger conferences but on a more local scale. We have also been influenced by the style and example of the Hay-on-Wye literary festival which grew from small beginnings and is based in a rural riverside town.
